Another Wide Track RC10 Update
by LowClassCC on Jun.22, 2009, under Associated
well this isn’t much of an update but as you can see the parts are starting to clean up very nicely. the chassis is now stripped down and awaiting to be hauled out to be powder coated. and replacement hinge pins should be on the way soon.
Charger And Power Supply
by LowClassCC on Jun.22, 2009, under New Toys
i just got these in the mail this morning. what you are looking at is a competition electronics turbo 35 charger and bull dog 15 amp power supply. both are in perfect working order. now i have a backup in case my novak charger ever calls it quits. but lets hope that never happens.man my shop is really starting to look the part with all this cool equipment.
Wide Arm RC10 Restoration Started
by LowClassCC on Jun.22, 2009, under Associated
you should have guessed that it wouldn’t be long before i started to restore this car. as you can see the rpm parts are cleaning up very nicely. i will be doing some weight reduction on this chassis since its condition is so rough. i will also be having it powder coated like i have done with the rest of the restorations i have done. i have no doubt in my mind that this buggy will be great once i’m finished restoring it.
also as a side note. the rpm parts will be going on a shelf car later on with a carbon fiber chassis. this chassis will be put together with different parts for the purpose of being ran. only time will tell with these projects. stay tuned for updates.
Track Banners
by LowClassCC on Jun.22, 2009, under New Toys, Track / Shop
Well if you have been keeping up you know i got a pro-match track banner back when i made my pro-match order. since i plan to rebuild my track in a few years i want to get everything together before i get the track built. that way i can put in more track time and less time trying to find things to make the track nicer. well a single track banner would look a bit silly on the fence. i’m wanting the fence to be filled with banners to truly show my support for the hobby.
anyway i now am the proud owner of 4 more banners. novak, jr, hot bodies, and hpi. i have hung them in the stairwell going up to the shop. later on i plan to buy some storage tubes to slip them all in when that are not going to be in use. who knows maybe one day i will have a building that i can build an indoor offroad track in and then i can have them up year round.
RC10 w/ Rare RPM Wide Arm Conversion
by LowClassCC on Jun.22, 2009, under Associated, New Toys
i finally scored a wide arm conversion rc10! i’m really excited about this car but i’m a little pissed off at the same time. the seller stated that it ran great and just needed to have a battery tossed in to be a runner. well what a crock of crap. here is a list of the problems this car has that i have found so far.
- transmitter is 72mhz while the receiver is 27mhz.
- speed controller is toast.
- the steering servo don’t work.
- 1 rear inner hinge pin is severely bent.
- 1 front inner hinge pin is severely bent.
- 1 rear shock shaft is severely bent.
- 1 rear universal shaft is severely bent.
- thrust bearing is completely missing from slipper clutch.
- the rear of the chassis is almost completely wore through.
- the entire chassis is severely warped.
- the front bulkhead is cracked.
- the rear shock tower has been cut.
- the rear bulkhead is so badly cut up its not usable.
- the tranny brace has been hacked up.
- turnbuckles don’t match and some are bent.
- ball cups don’t match and some are unusable.
- 3 out of the 4 shocks had zero oil in them due to leakage.
- the entire car was coated in a thick layer of shock oil.
- rear carriers are dyes some ugly yellow/gold color.
- wheels look brush painted.
- front tires are dry rotted to the point that they are falling apart.
but there are good points to the car. it does have the rpm rear wide arm conversion and the rpm wide front arm conversion. it also has mip ball bearing steering. most of the turnbuckles are titanium even though they are not a match set. has the rpm worlds front shock tower. and it has the original mini pin tires “pro-line fuzzies”. these tires are in pretty good shape and will be perfect for a shelf car in the future.
over all i’m happy with it and will be glad when i get her restored back to a running state.
