RC10 w/ Rare RPM Wide Arm Conversion
by LowClassCC on Jun.22, 2009, under Associated, New Toys
i finally scored a wide arm conversion rc10! i’m really excited about this car but i’m a little pissed off at the same time. the seller stated that it ran great and just needed to have a battery tossed in to be a runner. well what a crock of crap. here is a list of the problems this car has that i have found so far.
- transmitter is 72mhz while the receiver is 27mhz.
- speed controller is toast.
- the steering servo don’t work.
- 1 rear inner hinge pin is severely bent.
- 1 front inner hinge pin is severely bent.
- 1 rear shock shaft is severely bent.
- 1 rear universal shaft is severely bent.
- thrust bearing is completely missing from slipper clutch.
- the rear of the chassis is almost completely wore through.
- the entire chassis is severely warped.
- the front bulkhead is cracked.
- the rear shock tower has been cut.
- the rear bulkhead is so badly cut up its not usable.
- the tranny brace has been hacked up.
- turnbuckles don’t match and some are bent.
- ball cups don’t match and some are unusable.
- 3 out of the 4 shocks had zero oil in them due to leakage.
- the entire car was coated in a thick layer of shock oil.
- rear carriers are dyes some ugly yellow/gold color.
- wheels look brush painted.
- front tires are dry rotted to the point that they are falling apart.
but there are good points to the car. it does have the rpm rear wide arm conversion and the rpm wide front arm conversion. it also has mip ball bearing steering. most of the turnbuckles are titanium even though they are not a match set. has the rpm worlds front shock tower. and it has the original mini pin tires “pro-line fuzzies”. these tires are in pretty good shape and will be perfect for a shelf car in the future.
over all i’m happy with it and will be glad when i get her restored back to a running state.
