Reusable Number Decals
by LowClassCC on Apr.10, 2010, under Custom Made
i am the kind of guy that wants stuff to last. hell i need stuff to last. and that includes the racing numbers for my vehicles. so here is what i have done.
parts needed
- racing number decals
- blank plastic cards (same thing that’s used for credit cards and id’s)
- scissors
- velcro
now all you have to do is take and stick the decals on the cards. trim to fit, install velcro on the backs and on the body of the rc car. simple and cheap. here are a few pics to give you the basic idea.
First File To Hit 100 Downloads!
by LowClassCC on Apr.05, 2010, under Scans Archive, Site News
well out of the 1497 files currently in the downloads section the airtronics rd8000 manual is the first to reach 100 downloads! i am very excited about this because it shows that people are using the site and all the work has helped people out.
we are almost ready to pass the 1500 file mark also. this is a big accomplishment for us and the community. the other site that offers downloads has just over 1200 files. this makes our site the largest rc download site on the internet at this time (as far as i know). and the best part is we are still growing! the 2500 file mark we are shooting for is getting closer every day.
Associated Parts Get Whiter!
by LowClassCC on Apr.03, 2010, under Associated
well after about 54 hours of soaking in the 3% hydrogen peroxide solution under a uv light here is the final outcome. the pictures do not do these parts justice at all. the parts have came out wonderfully and i am proud to say that this method has been a complete success.
now i just have to do all the rest of the parts.
New Chassis Posts For The Durango B4
by LowClassCC on Apr.02, 2010, under Custom Made, Durango, New Toys
well when i got the durango prototype chassis one of the first things i noticed was that the front end was tweaked pretty good. the nose plate was bent back and so were the front chassis posts. the front and rear posts were also threaded with a metric 3mm thread pattern. being in the states and having everything in a standard thread pattern i also wanted to change the posts over to a standard thread. well finding someone to make these little posts for me really started looking bad. i was getting quotes of $50 and more. it gets worse.. that was per post!
well i found a guy that was able to make them for me a good deal cheaper than that. here are how the new posts look. i am very excited with how they came out and how the car will look once i get it together. stay tuned!
Giving New Life To Old Yellowed Associated Parts
by LowClassCC on Apr.02, 2010, under Associated
well i have been doing some experimenting on how to get those old yellowed associated parts lighter in color. i have figured it out.
after cleaning the parts (i use lysol kitchen and bathroom cleaner) place them in a glass jar. fill the jar with common 3% hydrogen peroxide (the stuff in the brown bottle) so that the parts are all under the solution. now ether sit the jar out in the sun or under a uv light. let sit for as long as needed to lighten the parts.
now the white team associated parts were never a true white. so this will not make them that way. it will only lighten the parts so much. it will not remove color from dyed parts. well here are some pics showing the differences side by side. this was after a 4 hour treatment.
