First Durango B4 Body For Use
by LowClassCC on Apr.14, 2010, under Custom Made, Durango
well after some trial and error i have a body that is ready for paint. From here i will continue working on my mold and i will be working on trying to make the body slightly more buggy like.
now i have already started gathering a collection of failed body attempts. i will be saving these failed bodies to use for paint practice. so even the bodies that can not be used on the buggy will have a use.
Sprite Does A Durango Body Good!
by LowClassCC on Apr.11, 2010, under Custom Made, Durango
Well i finished my very first prototype body for my b4 durango. yes its ugly, yes it needs improvement. made this body the same way that team durango made the bodies for these chassis back in the day. as time goes on i will continue to modify and improve my mold along with my skill of forming these soda bottle bodies. my plans for the future is to get a vacuum former and start vacuum forming my own bodies. but until then i will work on my soda body skills.
Reusable Number Decals
by LowClassCC on Apr.10, 2010, under Custom Made
i am the kind of guy that wants stuff to last. hell i need stuff to last. and that includes the racing numbers for my vehicles. so here is what i have done.
parts needed
- racing number decals
- blank plastic cards (same thing that’s used for credit cards and id’s)
- scissors
- velcro
now all you have to do is take and stick the decals on the cards. trim to fit, install velcro on the backs and on the body of the rc car. simple and cheap. here are a few pics to give you the basic idea.
New Chassis Posts For The Durango B4
by LowClassCC on Apr.02, 2010, under Custom Made, Durango, New Toys
well when i got the durango prototype chassis one of the first things i noticed was that the front end was tweaked pretty good. the nose plate was bent back and so were the front chassis posts. the front and rear posts were also threaded with a metric 3mm thread pattern. being in the states and having everything in a standard thread pattern i also wanted to change the posts over to a standard thread. well finding someone to make these little posts for me really started looking bad. i was getting quotes of $50 and more. it gets worse.. that was per post!
well i found a guy that was able to make them for me a good deal cheaper than that. here are how the new posts look. i am very excited with how they came out and how the car will look once i get it together. stay tuned!
Black Box Photo’s
by LowClassCC on Oct.29, 2009, under Custom Made, Track / Shop
well i have learned how to correct the color problem when trying to photograph my rc vehicles. shot them in a black box. this really gives the real life look as opposed to the colors being way off as they have been in the past. worth the few bucks i spent buying the black foam boards.
